Last week we went to Berlin to visit the trade shows to check out the upcoming Spring Summer 2020 collections. After Pitti in Florence, Berlin is the city to go to kick-off the trade show season. For many years the glorious days of the Bread & Butter show are over, but since that Berlin has grown into a new trade show movement. On several different locations, there’re trade shows to visit, most of them focus on a different type of retailers, but some of them are having an overlap. We’re going to Berlin to visit the Seek and Selvedge Run shows and the special Roadrunner’s Paradise pop-up showroom. These places are the ones that fit the best with our own brand and personal interest.
Seek
The core of the Seek show is about sport- and streetwear with an urban touch. The more than 250+ brands within this field are presented and showing their latest creations to all the buyers. The show is located in a vibrating area of Berlin.
As always the show was packed with a lot of cool brands. Since last edition they also set-up a new section called Trade Union. Trade Union is an area that is mainly focussed on heritage, authentic and high-quality made goods. Brands as Benzak, Eat Dust, Lee 101, Red Wing, Armor Lux, 877 workshop, to name just a few.
Outside of the show, they made again a beach where you could chill and think about all the cool stuff that you’ve just explored inside. A perfect place to meet retailers and talk about the business, upcoming new trends and brands, and of course, to catch a cold beer. Or two.
Selvedge Run
Since last season the Selvedge Run show teamed-up with giant Panorama, so this is the second edition that they’re part of this show. Selvedge Run is a trade show for quality garments, shoes, accessories and lifestyle goods. A show where brands with character and authentic stories are showing their latest collections. The exhibiting brands are coming from all over the world, from the U.S. to Japan, Europe and the rest of Asia. The focus is about timeless, high-quality and crafted goods. Typical Selvedge Run exhibitors will be presenting themselves alongside Zeitgeist brands, revealing their huge potential, showing how compatible they are and setting the tone for the future.
The Marketplace shows in cooperation with Noodles, Noodles & Noodles Corp. an inspiring and stimulating mix of selected concept brands that can be ordered as well as bought directly. The show is located at the Berlin Expo Center.
Roadrunner’s Paradise
Located in the popular Mitte area there’s the Roadrunner’s Paradise. Roadrunner’s Paradise is a crazy rockin’ place for all people, cats & kittens, greasers, hot rodders and all party tigers who like to have a good time. Since several years a couple of high appreciated brands as Blue Blanket, Johnson Motors, Otter Wax, Scartilab and The Quartermaster joined forces in this pop-up mini trade show in a very cool surrounding.
